WITNESSING DAILY MIRACLES
From: levonne morgan
I wish that you'd all remember Lee. He started feeling bad yesterday, now today he has run 102 temp. most of the day. At about 6:30 it was 103. At about 8:45 it was close to 104. He's taken a cool shower and more tylenol. I just now took his temp. again, about 1/2 hr. after the shower, it is still arond 103. He has a bad headache and horrible body aches, along with chills. He has no sinus, throat or ear prob. We're not sure what is causing this high a temp. I just know that it needs to come down. I don't want to have to take him to the hosp. But I'm worried about the temp. being so high. I know he is. With this cancer, he worries about that sort of stuff more. You never know if it's a 24 hr. bug or something that could be affected by the tumor. Please pray that his temp. comes down and stays down. I'm going to put him in the tub in a little bit if it doesn't start going down. His body feels a lot cooler now, but his head is burning up and the temp is still 103. I have a cold rag on his head now, but it's back to the tub if it doesn't go down pretty soon. Please keep him in your prayers. I will keep you informed. Thank you so much.
Love,
lev

It is very late.. about 3:10 am. I just got home from spending the last three hours in the ER with Lee. They have admitted him. His temp. had gone down to 100.6. It was 102 when we left the house about 45 mins. prior to that. But it started to go up again. They were worried about a kidney infection, but the urine test showed up clean. In fact, they couldn't find any infection in his body anywhere. They said his liver enzymems were up a little... elevated a little, was what they said. And then a possiblity of his port being infected. Neither of us thinks that's right at all. lee has had his port for 1 1/2 yrs now, and he's never had a bit of trouble with it. He had absolutely no prob. when it was installed, never had any trouble accessing it... it has worked and healed perfectly. So the drs. really have no idea what's causing this fever. They have more blood work that is suppose to be in tomorrow morning, and they are going to do a catscan sometime tomorrow. Lee had a catscan just a little over a month ago and was told that absolutely nothing had changed the lymphoma is the same..... no smaller,no bigger. Please keep us in your prayers. I don't know what is causing this fever, but I do know that God willing he will wake up tomorrow, the fever will be gone and the test will be clean. Please pray that this is just some 24 hr. bug that will be gone by tomorrow. I will be at the hosp. first thing tomorrow. I'm not sure when I will be back, but I will update you as soon as I get home. Hopefully lee with me.
Love,
Lev

I just thought I'd let you know that I just spoke with Lee. His fever is gone along with the headaches and horrible body aches. He says he feels great. They are still going to do the catscan... not sure when, but hopefully I'm gonna have him out of there before the days' over. I'll keep you informed. The fact that this fever is gone though, is great news. Thank God.
will keep you updated.

Well, Lee is finally home. His fever had broken again this morning and has remained down. Drs. could find nothing that would have caused his fever to run so high. They seem to think that it was just sort of strange flu bug going around. He is doing much better. he's had a little bit of a stomach prob., very bloated feeling and a slight case of diareah. We're not sure what is causing that, but I know for a fact that running a high fever like that will literally make you sick to your stomach. Hopfully with time this prob. will subcide. But the fever is gone, as well as the headaches and bodyaches. Continue to pray that this stomach problem settles down. Lee and I thank you so much for your prayers.
Love ya all,
Lev

Well, I'll try to make this short and update all of you at once.
Lee was admitted to the hosp. again Sun/early mon. morning. He had vomited up small amounts of blood when we decided that he really needed to go back to the hosp. More test were run. His liver enzymes were elevated a little more than they were when he was previously there and his blood platelets were very very low, about 16,000. Average is between 100,000 and 200,000. This means that the blood is very thin and is not clotting properly.
Dr.s are now agreeing that what they believe we are dealing with is an infectious disease from a tick bite.
He was given a platelet infusion in hopes that would bring his platelet count up. Around 4:30 they made the decision to move him to ICU, where he could be more closely monitored since the platelets were so low, which makes internal bleeding a possibility. Shortly after 5 i received a phone call from the nurse in ICU, (i was only about 3 mins. from the hosp.), telling me that as soon as he got to ICU, he went into a seizure and stopped breathing. He was immediately put under sedation and a resporator hooked up. When I arrived in ICU shortly after, his dr. there informed me that she was ordering another catscan of Lee's head, fearing that because of his seizure that there was prob. some bleeding in his brain. Needless to say, I am beginning to get really scared and am now realizing that there could be a good possibility that I could loose him, although I did my best to stay positive. PRAISE GOD... when the catscan was done, there was no bleeding in the head or anyother part of his body, the dr. strongly believed. She then was inclined to agree with other drs. that all of the symptons that he has been experiencing since last thur., high fever, dryness of mouth, kidneys not functioning properly, elevated liver enzymes, nausea, vomiting.... and there are more, are all side affects of infectious tick bites.
They still have him sedated and on the resperator. His vital signs have been good, blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, etc. He is on a strong antibiotic. His blood platelets are now elevated to 31,000 as of last night. Hopefully by this morning they have gone up more. So for now he just need more time for the antibiotics to start working. The more antibiotics that gets into his body and begins to fight this infection, the more these sides affects will start to deminish and eventually go away. I'm hoping that when i arrive this morning and drs. have been there, that I will no more about what the next step will be.... taking out resperator, getting him out from underneath the sedation, etc.
There is no doubt that the situation is still very critical, but they are considering him to be in stable condition. No internal bleeding, along with the fact that the platelets are up, is nothing short of an answer to prayer, and I know that he has had many prayers going up on his behalf. We will never be able to thank you enough. Please continue to pray that his platelets continue to rise and that these antibiotics start doing their job very quickly reducing these syptoms and sideaffects that he's been suffering from. I know without a doubt that God had him in his arms yesterday. I could have very well lost him. I know that God continues to keep him and watch over him. Please just keep praying that he continues to improve daily.
I'm not sure when i will be back today, but I will make sure and update you all when I get back home. Thank you so much for your continued prayers. I know God answers them. I saw that yesterday.
Will update you soon with more good news I hope. God bless you all.
Love,
Lev
